# Preparing the Autodeploy Package

To prepare the autodeploy package, you need to add the following required and optional components to it:

* Parallels Desktop installation image ([optional](/landing/pd-ag/provisioning-and-activation-of-parallels-desktop/alternative-deployment-methods/alternative-mass-deployment-via-deployment-package/preparing-the-autodeploy-package/optional-adding-the-parallels-desktop-installation-image.md)).
* Parallels Desktop Enterprise Edition license key (required, unless you are using "Activation using corporate account (SSO)").
* One or more virtual machines ([optional](/landing/pd-ag/provisioning-and-activation-of-parallels-desktop/alternative-deployment-methods/alternative-mass-deployment-via-deployment-package/preparing-the-autodeploy-package/optional-adding-a-virtual-machine/optional-adding-a-virtual-machine.md)). The user can later install or download a virtual machine via the link in a [configuration profile](/landing/pd-ag/parallels-desktop-for-mac-enterprise-edition-features/deprecated-using-configuration-profiles.md).
* One or more Windows application stubs (optional). Stubs are special links to Windows applications installed in a virtual machine that can be added to the Dock in macOS during deployment.
* You can also configure deployment options according to your needs by modifying the configuration file included in the autodeploy package.

You will have to take the following steps:

1. [Download](/landing/pd-ag/provisioning-and-activation-of-parallels-desktop/alternative-deployment-methods/alternative-mass-deployment-via-deployment-package/preparing-the-autodeploy-package/downloading-the-autodeploy-package.md) the Autodeploy package, which comes in a ZIP format.
2. Unarchive it.
3. \[OPTIONALLY] Populate the folders with specific [installation images](/landing/pd-ag/provisioning-and-activation-of-parallels-desktop/alternative-deployment-methods/alternative-mass-deployment-via-deployment-package/preparing-the-autodeploy-package/optional-adding-the-parallels-desktop-installation-image.md) and [virtual machines](/landing/pd-ag/provisioning-and-activation-of-parallels-desktop/alternative-deployment-methods/alternative-mass-deployment-via-deployment-package/preparing-the-autodeploy-package/optional-adding-a-virtual-machine/optional-adding-a-virtual-machine.md).
4. Set the deployment preferences to your liking by [amending](/landing/pd-ag/provisioning-and-activation-of-parallels-desktop/alternative-deployment-methods/alternative-mass-deployment-via-deployment-package/preparing-the-autodeploy-package/configuring-deployment-options.md) the `deploy.cfg` file.
5. Transform the resulting folder into an [installable package](/landing/pd-ag/provisioning-and-activation-of-parallels-desktop/alternative-deployment-methods/alternative-mass-deployment-via-deployment-package/preparing-the-autodeploy-package/mandatory-creating-a-flat-package.md) ready for deployment.

The subsequent sections describe how to add the necessary components and how to configure autodeploy package options.
