# Translating Words in Windows

If you're working with Windows and come across a word you don't know, you can easily look it up in the macOS Dictionary. Just hover the mouse cursor over the word and either press Control-Command-D or tap (don't click) the touchpad with three fingers.

1\. [Parallels Tools](https://docs.parallels.com/landing/pdfm-ug/v20-en-us/parallels-desktop-for-mac-20-users-guide/advanced-topics/installing-and-updating-parallels-tools/parallels-tools-for-windows) must be installed in Windows.\
2\. When you hover the mouse over a word, the mouse cursor should change from arrow to text selection. This functionality does not support translating words contained in images.
