# ディスク領域をすばやく解放
**ディスク領域解放ウィザード**を使用すると、仮想マシンのハードディスクを圧縮し、各種の不要なファイルを削除してディスク領域を解放できます。
ディスクをすばやく圧縮し、不要なファイルを削除し、ディスク領域を解放するには、次の手順を実行します。
1. 仮想マシンをシャットダウンします。
2. **\[ファイル]** > **\[ディスク領域を解放]** を選択します。
**ディスク領域解放ウィザード**に、仮想マシンのスナップショット、キャッシュファイル、あるいは仮想マシン使用中に生成される不要なファイル（統計ファイル、メモリダンプ、クラッシュダンプファイルなど）を削除してディスク領域を再利用できることが表示されます。
\[仮想ディスクを手動で圧縮] または仮想マシン構成の **\[一般]** タブで **\[再利用]** をクリックしてディスク領域を節約することもできます。
