# KA\_INTERVAL

Specifies the idle time between sending keep-alive network probes. Depends on the `KA_ENABLE` option being enabled.

**Value:** Time in seconds.

**Default:** 2 seconds

**Example:**

Set the idle time to 4 seconds:

`KA_INTERVAL=4`
