Keyboard-only Navigation

This page is tailored for users who have limited/no use of a mouse and/or want to navigate the Parallels RAS User Portal using only a keyboard (including screen reader support).

Using Parallels RAS Without a Mouse

Focusing the Application Listing Box

  • Press Tab repeatedly until the input box is highlighted (announced by screen readers as "text input" or similar).

  • You can also press / as a shortcut in some interfaces (if supported) to jump to the input.

Launching an Application

  • Press Tab repeatedly until you have reached the Application Listing box.

  • Press Tab to move through the applications published for you.

Accessing Settings and Profile

  • Press Tab to reach your profile button.

  • Press Space or Enter to open the menu.

  • Use Arrow Keys to move between menu options.

  • Press Space or Enter to activate a setting or navigate.

Screen Reader and Browser Tips

  • Explore with Tab, Arrow Keys, or custom screen reader shortcuts.

  • If using Safari browser on macOS, it is recommended to turn on Keyboard Navigation in macOS Settings (Apple symbol -> System Settings -> Keyboard -> Keyboard Navigation), which will enable the Tab key to be better used for in-browser navigation.

  • If Microsoft Narrator is used, it can sometimes interfere with the action of pressing the space bar or enter to select items. To work around this, you can toggle Narrator off using the key combination Windows Key + CTRL + Enter carry out the task & then re-enable Narrator using the same key combination.
