# Exporting and Importing Parallels Client Settings

You can export current Parallels Client settings to a file to have a backup or to transfer the settings to Parallels Client installed on a different computer. The following settings are exported:

* All existing connections including all individual connection properties.
* Parallels Client global options.

To export the current Parallels Client settings to a file:

1. Click main menu > **Export Settings** (**File > Export Settings** in classic interface).
2. In the dialog that opens, click the **\[...]** button to specify a file name and a destination folder.
3. If you want to include credentials in the exported settings, select the **Include access credentials to the exported connections** option. Please note that the resulting file will contain sensitive information.
4. Click **Save** to export the settings. The file is saved with the ".2xc" extension.

To import settings from a file:

1. Click main menu > **Import Settings** (**File > Import Settings** in classic interface).
2. In the dialog that opens, select a ".2xc" file and click **Open**. Please note that the Parallels Client settings stored in a file will override the current Parallels Client settings.
