Signing into Apple Account on macOS Virtual Machines

Apple Account, also known as Apple ID or iCloud account, allows you to synchronize your data, preferences, and credentials across multiple Apple devices. To learn more, refer to this page.

You can sign into your Apple Account from macOS by opening System Settings from the Apple menu in the top-left corner of the menu bar and choosing the topmost menu item.

Due to limitations of Apple's own virtualization framework, signing into your Apple Account on virtual machines running macOS on an Apple Silicon Mac is not possible in macOS Sonoma 14 and earlier. However, this becomes possible starting from macOS Sequoia 15.

Note: To sign into your Apple Account from a virtual machine running macOS on an Apple Silicon Mac, both the host machine's macOS and the virtual machine's macOS must be macOS Sequoia 15 or newer.

Using your Apple Account to sign into the Mac App Store from a macOS virtual machine is still not possible.
